Happy Me!

I am very pleased to annouce that I was picked to be a member of this quarter's (May, June, July) design team at AI Factory! I really love the variety of the designers that AI Factory represents. The designs are digital stamps and you can size and print to meet your exact needs. They even have some freebie designs to try out. (That's what I did) See the Happy Birdie Card -- it is from their site.

I have been printing and then cutting the designs on my Silhouette. (see below)

The site hosts a weekly challenge on their blog and the winner wins fabulous prizes! (Credits at the store, but the images are very reasonable priced.)

Mother's Day Card - Cutting Cafe Files - Two Part Video

Here is a new two-part video -- part one demonstrates the colouring techniques that I used to create the card. The diecuts are from the Cutting Cafe. Part two shows the card you the actual card assembly. This video was filmed in "real time" as I was creating. So you can observe the creative process -- also known as having an idea but no specific plan.

I cut the green background image, the flower pot and rim with Adobe Illustrator and my Silhouette Digital Cutting Machine. The sentiments are also part of the files from the Cutting Cafe.

New Tim Holtz Stamps and more at Two Peas

OK serious enabling... must visit LSS in San Diego and see if they are stocking any of these goodies too. I am going to Kansas City in May -- first time to see an Archivers Store, what should I expect. What do you all think about their stores?

RE: Two Peas -- they are offering Free shipping on orders $50 or more... I think they also offer other coupon codes if you are a newsletter subscriber. The free shipping thing could become really easy if you are not careful about adding to cart! Arg!

Spotted Canary Challenge - Edgy Project - Wedding Favor

I stumbled upon a site that is new to me... called spottedcanary.com -- part of EK Success.
They are having a contest for $100 worth of supplies. All you crafty friends with edge punches should check it out. Here is my submission.

Using 3"x6" craft cardstock I scored and folded to make a treat "matchbook" cover -- great for weddings as an easy and affordable party favor. To make the perfect corner punch curve you have to use a 3.25"x6" piece of stock. The Merci stamp is from The Paper Source. The ribbon is Martha Stewart craft seam binding in Dove White. Chestnut Roan Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink. I think the punch set is Scallop Three Dot - Punch Around the Page by Martha Stewart, I got mine at Michaels last fall/winter and think it is a very classy look.

On a totally different note -- have any of you been getting spam on your blog? I have my blog set to approve comments and I am glad I do. This is a screenshot of a post that came in today, the site posts song lyrics with links that lead to sites I would not want to be associated with -- "drug" companies and the like. Just an FYI -- I really appreciate comments and questions, and had recently been thinking of taking the approve feature off -- but now I think I may have to leave it on just to keep everyone a bit safer. How do you handle the spam?

AiFactory Challenge - Birthday Card

This card is also for the Critter Sketch Challenge Blog. Super cute ideas -- just make a birthday card for a child. Check out the link and enjoy.

As part of the AiFactory Design Challenge -- create a card for one of the challenges. Here are my birthday card submittals. The duck -- named Harold is one of the freebie digital rubber stamps. I took him into my Silhouette software and added the text and printed and cut him out. I used a variety of Stampin Up markers and some Copics too. Font: LD Gregarious, I printed it in orange but it looks a little more red in the photos...

Notice that I mirrored Harold -- his had is up on the right and the left. This is an easy technique in the Silhouette and one of the nice features of digital rubber stamps.

Our nephew will be 1 in a few months so I thought it would be fun to incorporate his name into the card.

Silhouette 102 - Money Card Holder

Hi everyone,

Well I signed up for the second installment of the Silhouette class at My Creative Classroom. The assignment was to take images that came in pieces and group them so it would be easier to cut out the pieces vs. assembling and then glue lots of small things. Also add text and weld to create an easier to piece backgound. Here is my project.

I used some SimplyFab 12x12 Brooke Narrow Stripe paper from making memories, red sticky strip tape and white embroidery floss. Red Stickles and sponged on Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick distress ink to color the ice cream cutout. The following images from the Silhouette Store:
